Downtown Port Perry early December looking west from Perry St.

The Scugog Chamber of Commerce, along with help from the
Port Perry Star and Scugog Standard, held a sale earlier
this month to raise funds for repairs to Santa’s sleigh and
reindeer. The bake sale and auction raised more than $5,500
for the much needed work. Above, from left, volunteers
Kathy Dudley, Mary Forbes and Gayle Stapley who were
selling the home-made goodies on the bake table.

Taking part in the Showcase of the Arts show held at the
Scugog Community Centre, Port Perry last month were
Birgitta MacLeod and sister Sonya Carr. More than 700
people attended the popular annual show this year.

This group of kids from Susan Watson’s Grade 3 class at S.A. Cawker
Public School sat down recently to talk with Focus on Scugog reporter
Chris DeClute (with Santa hat). The students, back row left, are

Ken and Shirley Hudson at the front gate of their home on
McLaughlin Rd, south of Nestleton. A plaque commemorating
the Cadmus School greets visitors.

Popular and talented watercolour artist Walter Campbell dropped
by the Framer’s Gallery in Port Perry on November 18 for a “meet
and greet”. Walter and his wife Lynn, lived in the Scugog area for
about 18 years before moving to Niagara on the Lake five years ago.
While at the Framer’s Gallery, he signed prints and visited with the
public. He’s seen above with one of his latest works called “Cape
Elizabeth.” With him are Framer’s Gallery owners Warren (left)
and Tracy Strong.
