Mutts of all breeds, sizes and
shapes invade museum for annual
Dog Days of Scugog
Scugog Shores Museum was invaded by dogs on July 19, 20 – big dogs, small dogs, jumping dogs, frisbee catching dogs and dozens of others tail wagging canines. The invasion took place for the museum’s popular “Dog Days of Scugog.”
Unfortunately constant rain on Sunday kept many people away but despite the less than perfect weather organizers recorded a crowd of more than 800 on Saturday, which helped boost attendance to more than 1,200 spectators and dogs over the two days.
Some of the many events taking place over the two days included the Skyhoundz Disc Dog Trials, Ontario Dock Dogs competitions, dog training and obedience sessions, fashion shows and a parade of breeds. In addition dozens of vendors lined the museum grounds providing information, products and services for our canine friends.
Event organizer, curator Aurora Hall of the Scugog Shores Museum, said she was happy with the weekend results and was pleased they were able to duplicate last year’s profit of $6,000 for the event. “Considering the weather on Sunday, I’m pretty happy,” Aurora said.
