Good friends Don Stinson, left, and Neil Hutton got into the swing of
things at the Cartwright Fall Festival on October 13, dressing up for
the popular Chili Cook-Off. Don says they just took his wife’s recipe
and added some “hot stuff” to the mixture... and hot it was! People’s
Choice results - 1st - Reid’s Independent. 2nd - Don and Neil (above).
3rd - CHS Athletic Council.

The Farmer's Market was held in front of the Scugog Township
office in late September, offering a pancake breakfast for those
who came out early.

Five-year old Maxwell Dinsmore crunches into a bright
red apple for the photographer. Maxwell, who is a member
of the 1st Port Perry Beavers was taking part in the annual
Scout’s Apple Day during October.

Tom Bonanno would liked to have stayed in Port Perry a few
more years to see the expansion of the Scugog Library, but
it was time to move on. As CEO of the Scugog Memorial Library
for the past 13 years, Tom was instrumental in bringing the
facility from a small-town library, primarily dispensing books,
into the modern world.

Members of the Township of Scugog staff gathered in front of
the local municipal offices on October 3 before taking part in “Walkolution”... an attempt to break the Guiness World Record
for the number of people walking 1 km simultaneously.

Kaylen Taylor and Matt Laki, history students of teacher Nancy
Hamer Strahl, display the old and new plaques on display
in their classroom.

Kim McIntyre and Kim Tafertshofer inherited the receipe they
used for the chili-cookoff at the Cartwright Fall Festival.
Although they didn't win, their table was one of the best
decorated of the show.

Jennifer Ceney of Blackstock was serving up her sweet treats
- decorated pretzel sticks - at the Cartwright Fall Festival on
October 13th in Nestleton.

An unknown windsurfer gets a last shot at this summer sport
during a cold, wet day during October. The picture was taken
near the pier at Caesarea Oct. 13th.
